How many bad boy billionaires do we need?  The 50 Shades of Grey trilogy was a standout success and I give EL James credit for the success of her series and for bringing a fresh new twist on the Cinderella story.  But with success came a slew of copy-cat stories.

I understand market demand, but does it have to be the same story? Rich guy, nice girl, kinky twist and love?  Romeo and Juliet and West Side Story are both stories about young star crossed lovers from different worlds who want to be together and can’t.  Yes, each is a story about star crossed lovers, but each isn’t the same story.

I don’t write erotic fiction, (I write dark tales with heart) and I am not criticizing it. I also don’t knock other writers for writing stories the market demands, but for my reading enjoyment I don’t want the same thing over and over.   I want something different, but I also want it to have some of the same elements.   Makes sense?   Drop me your comments and  let me know.
